Weekly Workouts Sept 1-7

It's hard to believe this time last year I had completed my first week of training for my first half marathon. A year later I've run 3 half marathons and am now training for the Goofy Challenge in January!

Week 10 of training was a little rough. I had a headache that turned into a migraine on Thursday and for some reason thought it would be a good idea to try to run once it started going away. That was a horrible idea on my part and the pounding of running made my headache way worse. So I basically walked for 40 minutes on the treadmill instead (better than nothing!).

Saturday was our first run in the double digits! We started the run at 8 am and were wishing we would have started at 6 instead. It was brutally hot and humid. Our pace was actually pretty good considering the conditions. I stretched and foam rolled for 40 minutes and then took an ice bath. After refueling and rehydrating I didn't feel too bad the rest of the day.

During my long run this week I thought a lot about resilience and what it takes to become resilient. In my running life I feel as if I have developed resilience. Running in tough conditions, whether it be heat or frigid cold, will toughen you up and make you work hard for what you want.

Week 10 complete, 18 weeks to go!

2 months from now I will be in Florida for Wine and Dine!!!

That's all for now!

Great week of workouts - it's been disgustingly hot and humid here as well. Come on Fall weather! :0)
