Here we go.....Week 1 Day 1

Tomorrow is the official start of Jeff Galloway's training plan for the 2014 WDW Half Marathon. Since I work tomorrow I started today :) 

Here we are before our first official training run!

New Brooks for the both of us to get training started off on the right foot (corny, I know haha)

The Galloway Method focuses on running for a set amount of time and then walking for a set amount of time. Tuesday runs are focused on trying different intervals of walking and running to figure out which one works best for you. Here's how today's run went:

     Warm-up: 3 minute walk
                     Then jog 30 sec, walk 30 sec for 5 min
     Main workout: 30 minute run (jog 2.5 minutes at 5.4-5.5 mph, walk 1 min at 3.4-3.6 mph)
     Cool down: walk 10 minutes at 3.5 mph
     Stretch: 12 min full body

This ended up taking an hour. 48 minutes on the treadmill, which ended up being 3.58 miles. 

Overall, it was a good run. I felt like I could keep that pace for awhile.
